Surveyed in 1868, Mount Wilson was named after John Bowie Wilson, the colonies Minister for Lands. To get to Mount Wilson take the turn off on the Bell’s Line of Road between Bell and Berambing.

Gardens in Mount Wilson include Yengo Sculpture Gardens featuring Australia's first endangered wildlife reserve, Nooroo including a world famous wisteria collection, Sefton Cottage, Koonawarra, Cherry Cottage, Clairne, Windyridge, Wynsta, Linden, Merry Grath and the overwhelming Lindfield Park. Mount Wilson holds an annual Autumn Garden 


Walks and picnic grounds are also very special in Mount Wilson. A beautiful location for a picnic is opposite 'The Cathedral of Ferns' - not to be missed. Back towards Bells Line of Road you will discover Bowens Creek Picnic Ground. Other places of interest include Wynne’s Rock Lookout, Du Faurs Rock, and Pheasants Cave.
